Team Sightseeing Tour

Today is a "rest day" - a day between the pool play games and medal round games.  We had a 1 1/2 hour sightseeing tour before lunch and practice.

The bus took us to the Kaunas Monumental Christ's Resurrection Church first.  The church was built in 1932-1940.  The tower is 70 meters high and we went to the observation deck to enjoy the panoramic view of the city.

We proceeded to "Old Town" and walked around the Kaunas Castle.  This castle was built in the 14th century at the joining of the two rivers to resist Crusaders' attacks.  It was the first stone castle in Lithuania which played a significant role in the city's defense system.

From the castle we walked through old town past the town hall and to a beautiful church.
